A: We actually sell you the pies or salad at our suggested retail price. The expensive part is the shipping. The pies and salad must be sent next day air to insure that you receive the product still frozen. Also, the pies or salad must be sent in an insulated container with dry ice or freezer packs. The only things we make a profit on are the pies. The shipping and packaging is priced out at cost.
Q: Why can't I choose a cheaper shipping option when I order frozen pies or salad?
A: The pies or salad must be shipped next day air.
Q: Do I have to be home to receive my pies or salad?
A: Yes, the pies or salad has to be put in a freezer (for pies) or a refrigerator (for salad) as soon as they arrive.
Q: My pies came packed in dry ice, is it dangerous?
A: There are two things to worry about with dry ice. Dry ice is very cold and can cause severe frostbite so be sure to use precautions when handling. Also, dry ice is actually the solid form of carbondioxide so the fog you see is actually the CO2 evaporating into its gaseous state. CO2 is not toxic, but it's not Oxygen and it can't support life so be sure to open your package and dispose of the dry ice in a well ventilated area.
Q: My chicken salad was shipped with freezer packs. Can they be reused?
A: Yes, as long as the bags are in tact, feel free to put them in your freezer and reuse them. They're yours to keep.
